According to preliminary reports from several major news sources, retail numbers were higher than last year’s on Black Friday, setting the holiday season off to strong start - although many still warn that key signs point to a significantly weaker overall holiday season. The National Retail Federation (NRF) reported that shoppers collectively spent $4.1 billion this past Friday-Sunday, Friday being the busiest day with an estimated 73.6 million hitting stores and internet shopping sites, according to the report.
